Parking
Free attended parking is available in abundance.
Free entry to Dyffryn Gardens
Free access to Dyffryn Gardens is included with festival tickets on the day of each performance at the following times:
From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm with tickets for daytime events
After 6.30pm for evening performances
Seating
All seats are under a ‘marquee’ style canopy so guests will be sheltered from the elements (and we do mean sun as well as rain!), whilst still enjoying the open air experience.
Food
There is a meadow picnic area in front of the new entrance lodge, and the new tea- rooms serve a range
of hot and cold snacks.
Bar
A bar is situated a short walk from Theatre Garden in the Education Centre for pre-theatre and interval drinks and light snacks.
WC
WC’s (wheelchair-friendly) are provided for the festival close to the auditorium in the Education Centre, and also at the Entrance Lodge.
For the duration of the festival we also operate a courtesy buggy service between the Entrance Lodge and the Theatre Garden. It is normally adviseable to book this in advance on 029 2077 9511 or please request beforehand or arrive in good time before the performance.
Assistance
Our Front of House team is in attendance at the auditorium and a medic attends all performances. A courtesy buggy operates between the Visitor Centre and the Theatre Garden for the less mobile, but please request beforehand on 029 2077 9511 or please arrive in good time before the performance.
Hard of hearing
There is an induction loop system in place for the hard of hearing.
Ease of access
The approach to the theatre garden is along wide and properly surfaced paths, cutting across beautiful lawns offering sweeping vistas of the gardens, and past Dyffryn House itself. The house is currently closed undergoing renovation. There is good wheelchair access to the auditorium and help on hand if required. A courtesy wheelchair is available for use on request.
Our values
Our audiences may be relaxing but it won’t necessarily mean that we will be!
We have a strong desire to present not just a professional, elegant and high profile open air theatre experience, but to make it available and accessible to all. It is not only important to us that the festival events are enjoyable, but we want our visitors to receive excellent value in terms of our performances but also in the way in which they are looked after in a relaxed and fun but professional manner by our Front of House teams, cast and crew.
If any of our visitors have suggestions as to how our service may be improved, please do not hesitate to email or write via the Midsummer Festival Box Office.
