Picnics
Why not bring a picnic and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Dyffryn’s Grade 1 listed Edwardian gardens before the show? Our Front of House stewards will be happy to look after your picnic things during the performance. Alternatively, just before you reach the gardens, there is a pleasant meadow area next to the car park.

Free entry to the gardens is available with performance tickets from 10.00am to 6.00pm for daytime performances, and from 6.30pm for evening performances.

What to wear
Whilst the audience is protected in covered tiered seating, this is an open air event, so don’t forget to come warmly dressed and prepared in case of those changeable outdoor conditions and cooler summer evenings . . . and carry something waterproof for the 10 minute stroll from the car park just in case.

Seasoned open air theatre goers can often be spotted with their cushion and picnic rug tucked under one arm . . . and a glass of something fizzy in the other!

but what about the weather . . . ?

First of all, this is open air theatre so the show will go on unless the weather is extreme and deems it unsafe for performers and public.

So saying, Dyffryn lies in a pocket of countryside that is well sheltered from winds, and is a positive sun trap when fine, and from experience, Dyffryn’s beauty just gets lusher and greener when showers fall. The audience seating area itself is under cover.
