Young Entrepreneurs Scheme

About the Scheme

This initiative was created to encourage creativity, confidence, and business skills in young people by giving them the opportunity to run their own stall at the festival. This year, four young entrepreneurs were selected to take part, each turning their ideas into reality for the day.

To secure a place, participants pitched their business ideas in a friendly Dragons’ Den–style session, explaining what they wanted to sell, how their business would work, and why they thought it would be a success. The pitches were judged on creativity, enthusiasm, and practicality, with the aim of supporting ideas that could realistically be run on the day.

Successful applicants were given the chance to plan, create, and run their own stall during the festival, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as:

  • Developing a business idea

  • Budgeting and pricing

  • Marketing and presentation

  • Talking to customers and making sales

The Young Entrepreneurs Scheme is about learning by doing, building confidence, and celebrating the talent and ambition of young people in our community. We hope to grow and develop the scheme in future years, giving more young people the chance to take part.

Further details about future applications and how to get involved will be shared here.
